So who is Martin Graebe?

Expensive studio portrait taken some years ago - I must look out
a more recent photo without the facial hair - I look even younger!

Born at an early age in Eastbourne, Sussex I spent my childhood in Surrey. When I graduated as a food technologist I moved to Devon where I spent twenty years working with rice pudding and discovering folk music, particularly that associated with Sabine Baring-Gould and Devon. Desperate to fill my repertoire of songs I resorted to writing songs, a number of which have been recorded by other people. Despite having moved to Gloucestershire to further my career* I still return to Devon frequently to indulge in bits of Baring-Gouldery.

To see an example of my songwriting go here.

If you like what you see, you might be interested in buying a copy of my song book, which contains 22 songs and is called 'Jack in the Green and Other Heroes', you can do so by writing to me at 100, Cheltenham Road, Gloucester, GL2 0LX, and enclosing a cheque for £8 (which includes the cost of postal delivery in the UK - if you live in another part of the world add a bit more).

If you wish to see a collection of strange facts about food, gleaned during my years in the industry, go here

If you are as interested in traditional song as I am, you might find the web site of the Traditional Song Forum of interest. I also manage this site.

Should you wish to contact me you will find me at martin.graebe@btinternet.com
